Reichert completes 14 years of dance instruction; To pursue degree in Modern Dance Performance



After 14 years of dance instruction - 10 years of that at Donna’s in Belton, Jordan Reichert has completed her last dance competition. The many years of instruction, sacrifice and hard work paid off in a big way this season, making it one to remember and the perfect ending to this era of dance in her life. Jordan competed in several regional competitions in Kansas City this winter and spring. Some personal regional season highlights included second overall senior competitive soloist at several competitions as well as being given a $500 scholarship to attend the “Go Pro” workshop presented by Talent On Parade. In addition to her personal accomplishments many team highs were achieved. Some group highlights included: each of her groups receiving top ten placement, first place overall senior competitive small and large group at several competitions and numerous judges choice recognition awards. Jordan choreographed a solo for Payton Ritter. Payton did very well with her first Donna’s solo and placed sixth overall and ninth overall intermediate junior soloist two regional competitions, and received an elite top first adjudicated placement award at Talent On Parade National Finals in Branson, MO.
Jordan competed in two national competitions this summer. At the Dance Out National Competition, Jordan tied for 3rd overall senior competitive soloist for her contemporary solo. She was named National Champion for her duet with Kori Weatherspoon. At this competition Jordan was selected to re-compete her solo and duet at the Show Down on the final day of the competition.
The season ended with the Talent On Parade National Finals held in Branson, MO. This nationals was the largest one Donna’s has competed in. Jordan went up against 220 soloists from around the country. After all 220 acts performed, the top eight scoring routines were called to perform again in the Parade of Champions. Jordan was called among that elite group to re-compete her contemporary solo. After re-competing Jordan placed second overall and refers to this event in her career as a pinnacle moment. Jordan and her duet partner were also called to re-compete in the duet/trio Parade of Champions and ultimately placed fourth overall as well as sixth overall for their jazz duet that they choreographed themselves. Jordan, along with Payton Ritter and Caitlin Kimminau also from Adrian, competed in the junior competitive line competition. This line was selected to re-compete in the Parade of Champions and ended up placing first overall, winning a large trophy and $500. In the small group competition, Jordan's group was selected to perform in the small group Parade of Champions which ended up placing third overall. In the senior line competition Jordan’s group was honored with a call to re-compete in the Parade of Champions also. After re-competing, this group was named Overall National Champions and won $1000 plus a huge trophy and all the prestige that goes along with that title.
Jordan will be heading to Chicago in the fall to attend Columbia College and pursue a degree in Modern Dance Performance. She is the recipient of Columbia College’s Presidential Scholarship for artistic and academic excellence which will pay for 25% of her college education expenses. This scholarship will enable Jordan to continue to follow her dreams of a career in dance.
