New era, same tradition
Matt Cochran takes the field for the first time as the Adrian Blackhawks Head Football Coach
By MIKE BURRIS
The Adrian Blackhawks football team entered a new era at 12:01am Monday, August 4th when the team opened the season under the leadership of new Head Coach Matt Cochran. Cochran takes over a program led by legendary Coach George Bruto, who was the Head Coach the previous 27 seasons. Although the face of Blackhawk football is changing, the dedication to the development of character among the players will still be present.
Coach Cochran is no stranger to the Blackhawk family. In 1997, Cochran came to Adrian. Cochran has been a fifth grade teacher for 16 of his 17 years at Adrian. He spent one year as a sixth grade teacher. He has coached high school football from 1998 to the present, junior high football for several years, junior high basketball in 1997-1998, and high school track from 2001 to present.
Coach Cochran would really like to get the Blackhawk Pride back and show our opponents what we are all about. “If you are a Blackhawk fan, be supportive, and come along for the ride.”
