The Adrian Lady Blackhawks volleyball team hosted the Lady Bears from Butler on Tuesday, September 13. Adrian got off to a very slow start in the first game as they lost 15-25. The girls came out strong in the second game and defeated the Lady Bears 25-12. The third game was close but Adrian pulled off a 25-23 victory to take the match. Coach Robards said, “Butler was a tough match for us. We made many defensive errors and had several missed serves. It’s tough to win matches when we make that many errors. Fortunately for us we were able to pull it off and come out with a win.”

In the JV game, Butler did not have enough girls for a full JV game so only one game was played. Adrian won the game 22-25. Coach Robards said, “JV has pulled out another win. The girls keep getting better and it is showing out on the floor.”

On Thursday night the Lady Blackhawks traveled to Ballard and defeated the Lady Bulldogs in two games, 25-15 and 25-10. Their record is now 7-3. Coach Robards said, “We played really well tonight. Our serving percentage is the best it’s been all season. Our defense was also very strong. W continue to iprove with every match. I’m very proud of the girls and h ow hard they continue to work.”

Monday night, September 19 Adrian was again on the road as they traveled to Lakeland. Again the Lady Blackhawks won the match in two games, 25-13 and 25-20. “We started off really great and then lost our momentum and allowed Lakeland to score several points on us” stated Coach Robards. “Once we started to play our game we were able to finish the match and get the win.”
