Lady Blackhawks volleyball loses to Osceola; wins over Drexel

Tuesday, October 4 the Lady Blackhawks volleyball team made the trip to Osceola for conference play. Adrian was defeated by Osceola in two games, 25-8, 25-21. Coach Robards said, “Osceola is a great team. We let our nerves get the best of us in the first game and did not play well at all. Once we settled down we were able to shut down their offense, allowing us to get a lead on them in the second game. Unfortunately we were unable to keep them down and ended up losing the match. We hope to see them again at the conference tournament.”
The Blackhawks were on the road again on Thursday night as they traveled to Drexel. It took three games, but Adrian added another conference win as they defeated the Lady Bobcats 25-18, 20-25, 25-19. “Several girls stepped up tonight” commented Coach Robards, “and a few set personal best records. I’m proud of the way we finished the night and glad we came out with the win.” The Lady Blackhawks hold an overall record of 14-7-1 and are now 3-2 in the conference.
