Tuesday night, September 27 the Lady Blackhawks hosted the Miami Lady Eagles and defeated them in two games, 25-18 and 25-5. Adrian now holds a 12-6-1 match record and is 1-1 in conference play. Coach Robards commented on the game, “The first game against Miami was not good in any way. We struggled to adjust to their style of offense which caused a lot of miscommunication on our side of the net. The second game we came out ready and played a much better game. Brittany Williams went on a 16 point serving run giving us the momentum we lacked in the first game.”

Thursday, September 29 Adrian traveled to Appleton City. It took three games, but the Lady Blackhawks came away with the victory, 20-25, 25-8, 25-12. Coach Robards said, “This was by far the best match we have played. We allowed Appleton City to get a big lead in the first game and we could never catch up. The second and third games we played awesome. Everything clicked for us and the girls started to have fun. We put a lot of pressure up at the net and completely shut down their offense. I’m very proud of the girls and the way we played tonight.”

In JV action, Adrian defeated the Lady Bulldogs 25-23 and 13-25. Coach McWilliams said, “The girls definitely showed up to play at Appleton City. They played hard and were able to secure a very exciting victory.”
