Lady Blackhawks undefeated in conference



To begin a four game week, the Lady Blackhawks were on the road as they traveled to Midway. Adrian had little trouble as they scored a 60 to 38 win over the Lady Vikings to move their overall record to 15-5 and a perfect 4-0 conference record. Coach Dingman said, “Came out hot on offense, scoring 23 points in the first quarter. Played pretty well throughout the game. Another good conference win and a good start to a week that has us playing four days straight, all conference games.”
On Wednesday, February 23 Adrian hosted the Appleton City Lady Bulldogs and scored a 54 to 21 victory. “We came out hot once again on offense, scoring 23 the first quarter and 22 in the second quarter” said Coach Dingman. “We played pretty well throughout the game. It was another good conference win.”
The Lady Blackhawks hosted the Osceola Lady Indians on Thursday, February 24 and were one step closer to securing the WEMO Conference title with a 55 to 40 win. Their overall record stands at 17 and 5 and they are a perfect 6-0 in conference play. Coach Dingman commented, “We played pretty well throughout the game. Another good conference win. Osceola slowed us down in the third quarter but we overcame it in the third quarter.”
The Lady Blackhawks traveled to Miami and remained undefeated in conference play as they scored a 68 to 41 victory over the Lady Eagles. Adrian will begin district play with an 18-5 overall record. Coach Dingman said, “Conference Champs - first time in 30 years. Nice to say that we were undefeated at home and undefeated in conference play. These were good accomplishments for the year during the regular season. Now on to districts.”
Coach Dingman also commented, “Congratulations to Brenna Tallman, 1st team all conference and to Emily Hughes and Courtney Miller, 2nd team all conference and to LeeAnna Reid, honorable mention all conference.”
