Lady Blackhawks place third in Archie Tournament

The Adrian Lady Blackhawks drew the number one seed in the 80th Annual Archie Tournament held last week. In the first round game they played Heartland and easily won the contest 63 to 18. The girls were 27 of 63 for 43% from the field and shot 6 of 14 from the free throw line. They grabbed 18 steals and only committed 6 turnovers.
In the second round of the tournament Adrian went up against the Drexel Lady Bobcats. The game didn’t go according to plan as Adrian could not get their shots to fall as they lost 45 to 54. They only shot 14 of 48 for 29% from the field and were 14 of 26 from the free throw line. They had 9 steals and committed 10 turnovers. The loss put the Lady Blackhawks into the third place game on Friday night.
Coach Dingman said, “We came out with great intensity and passion in the second half. It was a good way to end the tournament. Congratulations to Olivia Case for making the all tournament team.”
