It’s been another busy week in volleyball for the Lady Blackhawks. It started out a little disappointing, with losses for both the JV and the varsity when they traveled to Midway on Tuesday and Lamar on Thursday. The real highlight of the week, however, was the invitational varsity tournament at Midway on Saturday.
The team arrived at Midway early in the morning, hungry for success and ready to start off pool play with Jasper. The match was split, with Adrian winning the first game 25-22 and Jasper taking the second 25-23.

Adrian’s next opponent was Butler, whom they defeated easily in both games with scores of 25-8 and 25-16. The final match in pool play was split against Midway, with Adrian winning the first game 25-22 and losing the second 14-25.

At this point, pool play was first. Due to point differentials and wins, Adrian took first in their pool. The tournament then began, with Lakeland as the first obstacle. Unfortunately, the girls lost in three games, winning the first 25-19 but losing the last two 22-25 and 21-25. This meant that, although they had tried hard, their day of volleyball was finished.
