The Adrian Lady Blackhawks played the Sherwood Lady Marksmen Tuesday, May 5 and were defeated 9 to 4. Makenzi Adams was the losing pitcher. She pitched 3 innings, recorded 2 strikeouts, walked 1 and allowed 5 hits. Kaley Keating pitched 3 innings. She struck out 4, walked 2 and allowed 2 hits.
Coach Hubbard said, “We had a rough start, allowing Sherwood 5 runs in the first inning. We also had 5 errors on defense and 1 error on offense which is hard to overcome. We hit the ball well but unfortunately, right at people. The girls played hard and came back late in the game, but we came up a little short. Kristy Ray and Kaley Keating both had a double in the game and both did well ptiching.”

On Thursday, the Lady Blackhawks hosted the Jasper Lady Eagles. Adrian defeated Jasper 12 to 6. Kaley Keating was the winning pitcher. She went 7 innings, striking out 4, walking 1 and allowing 7 hits.
“This was a good win for us. It was a really good offensive night” said Coach Hubbard. “We still need to improve on our defensive decision making and fundamentals. Overall, though, the girls are playing well.
