The Adrian Blackhawks took on the Miller Cardinals last Saturday, March 14 in the Quarterfinals. The game was played at Missouri State University in Springfield.
This game presented big challenges for the Blackhawks as two players were injured and one was sick with the flu. Adrian came out slow and Miller capitalized, taking a big lead early in the game, 20-8. Adrian made a run late in the fourth quarter but just could not make-up the large deficit. They ended up losing, 52-40.
This was the best season the Adrian Blackhawks have had since 1989. Congratulations to the boys on a phenomenal season and an impressive record of 26 wins and 4 losses. Adrian Coach James Wheeler commented, “This was a tough, heartbreaking loss. I’m very proud of the team’s accomplishments. They will be remembered for a long time. We fought hard, but were not able to overcome an early deficit. We had a good run. This game is something the school and the community should be very proud of.”
