Last Saturday, May 16, Olivia Case of Adrian High School along with nine of her teammates, competed in the region’s 2A State Sectional track and field meet in Richmond, Missouri. She placed second in the Long Jump and, therefore, will be moving on to the Missouri State Championships in Jefferson City.
Her jump at 15 ft. 8.25 in. was quite impressive, losing only to the defending state champ, a sophomore from Penny High School, who jumped 18 ft. 2 in. “Olivia is a very versatile athlete, hard worker, very coachable, and she made good corrections on her jumping technique throughout the year,” said coach Tyson Basore, “any event we placed her in, she is capable of winning.” Indeed, all of Olivia’s relatives are proud of her; she is very pleased with her performance this season considering this is her first year competing in this particular event.
