Blackhawks score 61 to 8 Homecoming victory

By MIKE BURRIS
For the second week in a row the Adrian Blackhawks hosted a WEMO conference opponent out at the sports complex. This week they played host to the Rich Hill Tigers. And, for the second week in a row they walked away with a lopsided victory thrilling the Homecoming crowd.
Kody Cook would end the second quarter assault when he picked up the fumbled snap from center and found an open lane to the endzone. White connected on three extra points giving Adrian a commanding 47-8 lead going into half. After the half, Adrian’s 61-8 lead would stand throughout the fourth quarter. The running clock rule was in effect for the second time in as many weeks. Adrian’s junior varsity would see action the whole fourth quarter, allowing several of the underclassmen the chance to carry the ball.
Adrian’s offense was clearly hitting on all cylinders scoring on passing and rushing plays. The defense allowed one busted play that led to Rich Hill’s only points of the game. This domination was reflected in the team stats after the end of the ball game.
This was a very impressive performance on both sides of the ball considering the distractions that come along with Homecoming week. Adrian will have to continue their focus for their next opponent, the Cass-Midway Vikings. “This is a big week” said Head Coach George Bruto. “It’s Midway week. We must play well in all phases of our game to be successful.”
