Blackhawks open track season at Cass Midway

The Adrian Blackhawks boys and girls track teams participated in the Midway Relays on Tuesday, April 7th. The boys placed 7th at the meet with 53 points and the girls placed 4th with 98 points.
Coach Cochran commented on the meet, “We had a better meet today as opposed to last week at Archie. The kids seemed more prepared as to what to expect. I was happy with how we performed. We had a total of 32 personal bests today which means we are moving in the right direction. I’ll be satisfied as long as we keep improving. We finished 7th of 16 teams today and, of the conference schools, we placed second. We just need to keep working hard.”

On Thursday, April 9th the boys and girls traveled back to Midway for the Cass Midway Invitational where the boys finished first with 89 points and the girls placed 2nd with 131 points.
Coach Cochran said, “We seem to keep improving. Really good effort tonight. We’ve gone a long way, but still have a lot of improvement to go. I’m really proud of everyone with their effort today. We won our first meet of the year. At the beginning of the year I really wasn’t sure if we were capable of winning a meet, but the kids showed heart. We can’t be satisfied though. We need to improve every meet.”
