The Adrian Blackhawks hosted their first ever Adrian Invitational last Tuesday, April 13. The boys took first with 151 points. Appleton City came in second with 132. The girls placed 1st with 127 points.

Coach Cochran said, “It was a great day for a track meet. I want to thank everyone who helped put it on. It was nice to finally have a home meet for a change. Really good effort by all today. The 4x800 team ran well and Keenan Morrow finally made 6 foot in the high jump. The kids are improving every day. Looking ahead to conference, I think it will be a dogfight with Appleton City. We just barely beat them at all the meets. We need to improve and work hard daily.”

On Thursday, April 15th, the Blackhawks hosted their 1st Annual Adrian Relays. The boys took 1st with 164 points. Midway took 2nd with 121 points. The girls tied for 2nd with Butler, 115 points, behind Midway with 118.

Coach Cochran stated, “We had a nice meet today. The kids have performed well the last couple of weeks. Today the 4x800 team ran well, Bobby McCarl ran the 800m in a good time and Erik White had a good triple jump. We have to continue to get better though. We’ve won the last several meets, but the scores are pretty close. If we don’t continue to improve, other schools will catch us. That being said, I couldn’t ask more from the kids. They are performing well and keeping a good attitude.”
