The Adrian Blackhawks traveled to Cole Camp to take on the Blue Birds in the second round of district play. Adrian left with a 33-20 victory that ensured at least one more game after the regular season winds down next Thursday. They will know their playoff opponent after this week’s scores are tallied.

The Blackhawks seem to be peaking at the perfect time of year. They host the Butler Bears who, like Adrian, are 2-0 in district play. The game will not have an affect on who makes the playoffs as both teams are guaranteed to advance, but it will determine where each team will have to play their first playoff game. The bigger factor is that the winner will have bragging rights in the rivalry, while holding the District Championship title. Butler would like to close out a successful regular season with a spectacular 9-1 record while Adrian would like to crawl out of a hole and achieve what many said was impossible after their rough start: a .500 record by balancing out their wins and losses with five each.
