Blackhawks fall to Drexel Bobcats 30-7

The Adrian Blackhawks hosted their third straight home game to open the 2011 season in WEMO conference action against the Drexel Bobcats. Adrian entered the game hoping to put an end to their losing streak but left dejected after a convincing 30-7 loss to the visiting Bobcats.
Drexel got an ill-advised pass interference call near the goal line that led to an Adrian touchdown as Joe Collins found paydirt on a one yard run. After Brendin White split the uprights on the extra point, Adrian held the lead despite Drexel dominating both sides of the ball. Key mistakes allowed Adrian to remain in the game then take the lead. Adrian was simply no match for the Drexel Bobcats. But the home team was not without some bright spots.
The Blackhawks look to build on the small victories this week as they travel to Appleton City to take on the Bulldogs. Appleton City will also be looking for their first win of the 2011 campaign. They are coming off three consecutive blow-out losses having been outscored 24-148 in the three contests.
Right: Ethan Weeks, brings down the Drexel player to stop the play.
Middle: Harrison Wainwright hangs on to the Drexel ball carrier during action Friday night at Adrian.
Far right: Christian Schlotman makes a block on Drexel’s Daniel Robert to allow Brendin White, 24, to find a hole.
