The Adrian Blackhawks traveled to Creighton Friday night in the first week of District action. The Blackhawks left victorious, defeating the Marksmen 21-12.

The Blackhawks move on to the second game of District play by traveling to Cole Camp this Friday to take on the Bluebirds. Cole Camp gave Butler everything they could handle and then some before falling by the score of 20-17. Cole Camp has a powerful running game and a kicker that converted on a 43 yard field goal in the Butler game and missed on a 47 yarder that would have tied the ballgame. If history is an indicator, let’s hope for rain to settle the dirt as the style of play for both teams is “three yards and a cloud of dust”. A win would bring the Blackhawks one game closer to a .500 record and set the stage for an epic matchup against a Butler Bear team that could be 8-1 providing they get past Sherwood.

Right: Adrian’s Austin Williams, 21, prepares to put a block on Sherwood’s #68 to allow runningback Joe Collins, 40, to pick up yardage.

Far right: Sawyer Highley, 31, takes the handoff from quarterback Ethan Weeks and follows the blocks of Christian Graham, 73 and Austin Williams, 21.
