The Adrian Blackhawks boys basketball team opened their season with the WEMO Tournament held in Archie. They played Midway on Monday night. Adrian was seeded 5th and Midway 4th. The Blackhawks defeated the Vikings 45 to 36. Coach Basore commented on the game, “The boys played hard and worked for good shots.”

The win put the Blackhawks against the number one seed Drexel Bobcats on Thursday, November 29. It was not a good night for Adrian as they fell to Drexel 29 to 68.

With the loss to Drexel the Blackhawks went up against the Rich Hill Tigers for third place on Friday night. The Tigers proved too much for Adrian as they were defeated 59 to 27.

Right: Brendin White shoots over Drexel’s Jacob Antley in second round action last Thursday night.

Middle: In the 3rd place game last Friday night, Adrian’s Tyler Bohannon goes up to block the shot of Rich Hill’s Cody Yarick.

Far right: Rian Lewis goes up for a shot against the Midway Vikings during the opening round of the WEMO Conference tournament at Archie.
