Blackhawks defeat longtime rivals

The junior varsity Blackhawks traveled to Midway to play the Vikings on Monday, October 19. Last year Adrian won this rivalry 20-6. No matter how good each team may be, every game is always close and this one was no exception.

Adrian’s defense played great throughout the entire game, especially in the first quarter. Adrian’s offense moved the ball pretty well but penalties cut drives short. After two quarters of play the score was 0-0.

The Blackhawks got the ball first in the second half but could not do anything with it, so once again, the Adrian/Midway rivalry would come down to the fourth quarter.

The first eight minutes of the fourth quarter were just like the rest of the game with both teams struggling to get points. With little time left on the clock, Ethan Weeks dropped back and threw a great pass to tight end Eric Moles for the touchdown. The final score was 6-0, Adrian.
