Adrian extended its conference unbeaten and unscored upon season record to 4-0 last Friday with a 47-0 spanking of the Drexel Bobcats at the Adrian Sports Complex.

The Blackhawks surging passing attack is as warm a welcome sight as the emergence of Tuff Wimberly as a dual threat with Erik White in the backfield.  With White leading the way most weeks, Tuff Wimberly’s latest success hides the fact that Adrian also has Luke Hough in the backfield.  Teams who make their focus on stopping Erik White are paying the consequences as Wimberly and Kariker reap the rewards.  Even at that, White still visited the end zone with an 11-yard run in the third quarter that punctuated the scoring in the game.

Not to be outdone or forgotten, the defensive effort put out by the host Blackhawks has been nothing short of amazing.   Adrian allowed a minuscule 39 yards rushing and a punishing 29 yards passing the entire game while hauling in three interceptions and recovering 3 fumbles.

Adrian has not allowed an opponent point on the board since their devastating loss to the Sherwood Marksmen in the third week of the season.  The Blackhawks look to make an even stronger statement this Friday as they play host to the visiting Whirlwinds.

Each week Adrian’s offense puts up ridiculous numbers while their defense throttles the opposition puts a bigger bulls-eye on their chests.  Each week becomes tougher to repeat the previous game’s success.  Forgetting the bitter taste of defeat and the circumstance that led to defeat could prove costly.
