The weather forecast for the regional game last Wednesday night against the Adrian Blackhawks and the Rich Hill Tigers was possible thunderstorms. And that it was. The game started with light rain falling and lightning in the distance. By the end of halftime, it had turned into a full blown thunderstorm which caused officials to postpone the game until the next night.
With time running out, the Blackhawks kept their composure and scored with 1:11 left in the game. Knuth faked a hand off to Josh Hubbard and went in for the two point conversion as the Blackhawks took the victory 15-14.
Far right: Chris Schaller, 34, attempts to strip the ball from Rich Hill’s quarterback Rusty Thomas.
Middle: Pass interference? Skyler Kariker attempted to pull down this pass from Kyle Knuth in the endzone on Wednesday night, but the referee called in incomplete as a Rich Hill defender gave him a shove.
Right: Kendall Schellman, #72, and the Blackhawks celebrated in victory as Kyle Knuth slammed through the Rich Hill defense to score the game-winning two-point conversion with just seconds left on the clock. The win allowed Adrian to advance to regional play.
