Blackhawk wrestlers take on Harrisonville/Grain Valley; Participate in Belton Tournament

The Adrian Blackhawks wrestling team wrestled against Harrisonville and Grain Valley on Tuesday, January 29. Results were:
Harrisonville 42 Adrian 36

Grain Valley 43 Adrian 18

On February 2nd, Adrian traveled to Belton to compete in the Belton Hall of Fame Tournament. Teams that participated in the tournament include: Belton, Ray-Pec, O’Hara, Hogan Prep, Grandview, Raytown, Raytown South, Winnetonka, Sedalia Smith-Cotton, and Adrian.
Adrian came into the tournament with 7 wrestlers. Many were out with sickness. However, 5 out of the 7 medaled and 4 wrestlers reached the finals.

The team will compete in Districts February 8-9 in Versailles. The top 4 place winners in each weight class will compete in the state tournament at Mizzou Arena in Columbia February 14-16.
