Six Adrian wrestlers competed at the State meet. Luke Hough placed 5th overall. Coach Campbell said, “It was hard losing those close matches on the back side of the bracket. I’m very proud of the boys and how hard they wrestled down there. As a whole I don’t think that we wrestled our best. I know that some individuals did not accomplish some of their goals this year, me included. As a team we have to start preparing now for next year. Just wrestling during the season isn’t going to be good enough for us to accomplish our goals next year. We really have to get after it in the weight room and lift with a purpose all spring and summer. We also have to get on the mat and compete in spring and summer freestyle camps and competitions.  I hope those individuals that did not accomplish their goals this year keep that bad taste in their mouths all off season. I couldn’t have asked for a more dedicated group of individuals this year. We had our bumps along the way, but we all stuck together. We truly became a family. We did accomplish many things that we set out to do this year, but by accomplishing those things we need to add something else to the list for next year. After seeing the disappointed in them at state lets me know that they are just not satisfied with qualifying for the state tournament and that they are hungry for next year already.”
