Athletes honored at reception

The Adrian Blackhawks winter sports athletic reception was held Monday night, April 6, to honor the girls and boys basketball players, wrestlers and cheerleaders.
The Lady Blackhawks had an outstanding season as they recorded a 25-3 record and were ranked 10th in the state. Special awards were presented. Named to the WEMO All Conference were Chelsea Urie and Becca Lawrence, First Team; Brenna Tallman, 2nd Team; Justine Enlow and Lee Anna Reid, Honorable Mention. Named to All District was Becca Lawrence, First Team.
Next to be recognized were the Blackhawk cheerleaders. Each were introduced by Coaches Connie Reynolds and Sherri Hough.
This year’s boys basketball team also had an outstanding season of 26 wins and 4 losses. They were WEMO Conference champions, won district and sectionals to advance to the quarterfinals. Special awards were presented. WEMO All Conference honorees were Erik White and Austin Erickson, First Team; Kyle Knuth and Skyler Kariker, Honorable Mention. Named to All District was Erik White and Skyler Kariker.
Last, by not least, was the recognition of the Blackhawks Wrestling team, introduced by head coach Don Lile and assistant Michael Toschi. Special awards were presented.
