Last Tuesday, the Adrian and Archie girls squared off in another conference match-up. Both teams played relatively close but at the end of one quarter the Blackhawks were up 10-7. Archie battled back in the fourth quarter but could not come up with enough, falling to the Blackhawks 51-42.
This moves Adrian’s record to an amazing 14 wins and 2 losses. Adrian Coach Nathan Dingman commented, “Close game at the half. The girls picked up their defense in the 3rd quarter.”
Archie’s record falls to 9 wins and 7 losses. Archie Coach Brad Batchelder said, “We did not play our style of basketball tonight and it cost us the game. We were sloppy on offense and did not rebound on defense, giving up 18 offensive rebounds. When that happens, we are not going to win very many games. We finally started to play better in the 4th quarter, but by that time it was too late. The girls played very hard, we always do, but we just did not play how we wanted to play.”
