2011 Track off to a good start

The Adrian Blackhawks hosted another track meet on Thursday, March 31. There were 10 teams competing. The girls finished 5th and the boys took 1st with 115.5 points.
Coach Basore commented, “We have 9 girls right now competing. Their times are improving and they understand that if they work hard in practice then the results will show.”
Coach Cochran commented, “I was very pleased with everyone’s effort today. These kids like to compete. They seem to always give 100% effort. Payton Wilson and Joe Collins both almost cut a second off of their 110 hurdle times; Micheal Guinn won 4 events; I could go on and on with personal bets today. Winning the meet was great, but we still have a lot of work to do.”
The Blackhawks traveled to Archie on Friday, April 1 to compete in the Archie Invitational. There were 10 teams participating. The girls brought home a 6th place finish and the boys took 2nd with 113 points.
“Another good effort today” said Coach Cochran. “Our times weren’t quite as good overall as yesterday, but with two meets back to back, that is to be expected. There were some real nice performances today and we got to see some other teams. As a tea we placed 2nd overall, missing first by only 3 points. But that is good, makes the kids work harder. We continue to improve but we can’t be satisfied yet. We still have a lot more to accomplish.”
