Jr. High volleyball takes first


The Adrian Junior High volleyball team took first place in the Rich Hill Junior High Tournament last Saturday, September 20, 2014. Appleton City, two wins; Osceola, two wins; Clinton (championship round), two wins to claim first place.

Bates 4-H’ers hit the mark


Lots of hard work and practice paid off on August 23, 2014, for the Bates County 4-H trap shooting teams. Ten participants, two coaches and a host of family members arrived at the annual State 4-H Trap Shooting event in Linn Creek, Missouri.  The 4-H members shot very well, bringing home lots of blue ribbons and a handful of reds. Participants were: Front: Gaven Hale, Austin Nold, and Case Doody. Center: Blake Doody, Caleb Morris, Anson Johnson, Victoria Sears, and Ty Underwood. Back: Luke Crawford, Steven Doody, Coach, Conrad Walley, Jay Walley, Coach.

Blackhawks hand Whirlwinds 48-12 Homecoming loss



The Adrian Blackhawks traveled to Archie to take on the Whirlwinds with hopes of ruining their homecoming. With the help of a rushing game that netted 400+ yards on the ground Adrian would do just that, handing Archie a 48-12 defeat in front of the fans and returning alumni.

JH football defeats Archie

The Adrian Jr. High football team played at home against Archie, Monday, September 22 and defeated the Whirlwinds 38 to 14. With 1 second remaining in the 1st quarter, Adrian running back Noel Martinez ran for a 1 yard touchdown, the 2 point conversion failed.

In 4th Quarter Dakota Harris intercepted the football and ran it in for a 67 yard defensive touchdown, putting up the final numbers of the night for the Blackhawks.

Their next game will be Monday, September 29 at Appleton City.
