Blackhawks participate in 85th Annual Archie Tournament


The Adrian Blackhawks varsity girls and boys participated in the 85th Annual Archie Tournament January 26-31. The boys were seeded 5th and came home with Consolation as they defeated the Drexel Bobcats. The Lady Blackhawks, who were seeded 2nd, defeated Midway for a third place finish.

In first round action for the boys on Monday night, they took on a very impressive Metro Academy team. The Blackhawks fell to Metro 70 to 49. Coach Basore commented, “We got off to a slow start, but our boys really fought hard to get back into the game. We just ran out of gas down the stretch.”

Adrian wrestlers compete in Richmond Tournament

Saturday, January 31 the Adrian Blackhawks wrestling teams traveled to Richmond for tournament action. In the 1st Place Match of the Championship Bracket, Zachary Shannon (Adrian) won by fall over Milo Henry (North Callaway). In the Consolation Bracket Jesse Graham placed 2nd.

Blackhawks varsity basketball takes two from KC Lutheran

The Adrian Blackhawks varsity boys and girls hosted KC Lutheran Thursday, January 15. In the girls game the Lady Blackhawks moved their record to 11-2 as they defeated the Lady Knights 63 to 51. In the boys contest Adrian came away with a 74 to 64 victory.

Adrian Blackhawks Wrestling

The Adrian Blackhawks wrestling team participated in the Butler Invitational Saturday, January 10. Taking first place was Steven Jacobs (113) and Dakota Jones (126). Zachary Shannon (132) took 2nd and John Collins (145) came in 3rd.

The Adrian Blackhawks hosted El Dorado Springs, Sherwood and Summit Christian on Tuesday, January 13. Team results were:
Adrian vs. Summit Christian Academy - Adrian 60.00, Summit Christian Academy 12.00; Adrian vs El Dorado Springs - Adrian 69.00, El Dorado Springs 12.00; and Adrian vs Sherwood - Adrian 54.00, Sherwood 22.00.

Lady Blackhawks move to 10-2


The Lady Blackhawks hosted the Lady Bulldogs of Ballard Tuesday, January 6, 2015. They moved their overall record to 9-2 with a 52 to 20 victory. Coach Basore commented, “It was a good game for everyone to get the opportunity to play.”

Friday, January 9 the Lady Blackhawks hosted the Lakeland Lady Vikings and posted a 51 to 40 win. “It was hard for us to get going” stated Coach Basore, “we missed some easy shots and there just wasn’t any energy to the game.”
