Lankfords celebrate anniversary

J.C. and Leeta Lankford of Norman, Oklahoma, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary August 28th. J.C. was from Adrian, Missouri and Leeta was from Farmersville, Illinois. They met in Adrian. He worked as a clerk in the local post office and was later promoted to Postmaster. He later was a Postal Inspector in Charge for 5 states, including Oklahoma. He retired in 1972. J.C. and Leeta have two children, Joe Lankford, an attorney in Norman, Oklahoma and Becky Lankford, who works at an assisted living center in south Oklahoma City. They have four grandchildren, Jennifer Beaty, Julie Lankford, Stephanie Kern, Rob Stegge and one great-grandson, Mason Beaty. Leeta is an active leader in the First Presbyterian Church in Norman.
