Ashlee Burris participated in the Pre-Teen America Academic and Enrichment Program in Jefferson City on Labor Day weekend. Out of 40 participants, Ashlee tied with Brianna Greene of Drexel as the first runner up overall in the junior division. She was selected by her peers for the Spirit Award, and she was recognized as a semi-finalist. In the optional talent portion of the program, Ashlee performed a self-choreographed dance routine to “All-Star” (with advice from dance instructor Jenny Welcher). Ashlee was awarded first runner-up for her performance.

Ashlee received four trophies and two educational bonds for her Pre-Teen America achievements. Her awards in the Missouri program qualify her for the Pre-Teen America Nationals Program in Baton Rouge, LA next July.

Right: The participants learned a production number to a medley of animal songs. Ashlee dressed as a dancing zebra for the performance.
