Adrian dancers receive top awards

The Dance Craze Competition Teams, the Power Starz, traveled to Joplin, MO last weekend to attend their first competition of the season. They competed against 30 studios from Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas at the Talent on Parade Regional Championships.
The Dance Craze dancers, under the direction of Jenny Welcher, competed in 13 routines altogether. There were five solo performances from The Dance Craze. McKinley Brewster received a Top First Place adjudicated award. Jaylee Welcher performed two solos. She won a first place and a Top First Place adjudicated award. Jaylee also won the Top Star award along with an invitation to become a member of the Talent On Parade National Performance Team this summer, which is a huge honor. Some of the soloists also received Judges Choice Awards. Brianna Greene won “The Flexibility Plus Award” and McKinley Brewster won the “Way to Dance the Stage Award.” In the Novice Solo Division, McKinley Brewster captured the 6th Overall High Point Award and Brianna Greene won the 5th Place Overall High Point Award. In the Intermediate Division, Jaylee Welcher captured the 2nd Place Overall High Point Award.
In the Duo/Trio Division, The Dance Craze competed in two routines. Bailey McMillan, Sheldon Tallman and Jaylee Welcher received a First Place award, the 3rd Overall Duo/Trio High Point Award, as well as the Judges Choice Award entitled, “Make Me Want to Get Up and Dance”. Taryn Gregg and Hannah Morrow won a Top First Place Adjudicated Award along with winning the 2nd Overall High Point Award in their division.
The Dance Craze Power Starz competed in six group routines. McKinley Brewster, Ashlee Burris, Taylor Edmiston, Brianna Greene, Madison Markel, Payton Ritter and Olivia Smith won a Top Second Place Award and a First Place Award as well as the 3rd Overall High Point Award in their division.
Marissa Markel, Bailey McMillan, Madison Moore, Bailey Reed, Sheldon Tallman, Anna Walley and Jaylee Welcher received two First Place Awards as well as winning the 5th and 8th Overall High Point Awards in two categories. Payton Ritter joined them for their third routine, which won a Top Second Place Award.
The Dance Craze Power Starz teams came together to compete in their production of “Anytime is Train Time,” and won a First Place Award, and took 3rd Place overall for Production/Line.
