70th Wedding Anniversary

The children of Clifford and Thelma Leister are pleased to annouce the 70th wedding anniversary of their parents. All friends are invited to a reception at the Amsterdam Community Building on June 23 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. to help celebrate this very special day. This celebration will also mark the young couple’s 90th birthdays! (Cliff - May 8th and Thelma - Aug. 29th).

The couple were united in marriage on June 18, 1937 in Salina, KS. They moved to Amsterdam, MO in 1939 and remained active in the community until they moved to Butler, MO ten years ago. Cliff, a retired farmer, received his 50 year pin from the Amsterdam Masonic Lodge. Thelma, a retired school teacher, was a member of the Drexel Order of the Eastern Star for many years and was quite active in the Amsterdam Methodist Church. She served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. The reception will be hosted by their three daughters, Donna McWilliams, Belton, MO, Linda Case (Larry) of Amsterdam and Susan Harris (Clint) of Gladstone, MO.
