Community citizens attending a November 9th meeting at the Adrian Community Library voted to officially form a historical society. This group would include all the surrounding communities that have contributed to the history of this area.
The goals of the society will remain open for small interest groups to research and document areas such as church records, local clubs, Adrian and surrounding businesses, landmarks, cemeteries, rural one room schools, current schools, academic and athletic achievements.
The Adrian Optimist Club paid for four members of the Adrian Fire Deparatment to take the CPR and Basic First Aid courses to become certified instructors. Optimist members recently took the basic first aid course.
The Adrian Fire Department will be working with the community to offer the basic first aid class. Anyone personally or any organization that is interested in taking the class may contact Adrian Fire Chief Gary Dizney.
Glenn Jones, owner of Crooked Fence in Adrian, is a generous supporter of the Adrian VFW Post #1935. Every year Jones donates a rifle to the VWF to raffle off. To show their appreciation for Jones’ continued support, the veterans donated and erected a flag pole in his honor, thanking him for his patriotism. The flag pole stands in front of his business.
