Winners of Conservation Posters Announced

The Bates County Soil & Water Conservation District held their Annual Appreciation Open House on Wednesday, March 4, 2009. The event was held in the USDA Building on West Nursery and Business 71 Highway in Butler.
Over 100 people had attended the event by 1 p.m. The winners of the 4th Grade Poster Contest were announced and prizes awarded by the Board of Supervisors. Pictured are this year’s poster contest winners are (left to right): Casey Gregory, Miami Elementary; Hannah Arnold, Zion Lutheran; Derek Greer, Adrian Elementary; and Tanner Diehl, Butler Elementary. Each winner received appropriate ribbons and they received $15 for placing first in their schools. The first place winner will advance to the state level competition, which will be held at the Annual Training Conference in November at the Tan-Tar-A Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks.
