Robert Reese is a fifth grader at Adrian Elementary. His mother Chris is a dedicated parent and an active PTO member. Her sister and Robert’s aunt, Walmart Transportation Employee Christine Dykes, applied for a grant from Walmart through their Miles for Education program. Driving safety is of utmost importance to Walmart, and drivers like Robert Carr, husband of R-III teacher Julie Carr, helped accumulate safe driving miles. With these safe miles, funds are raised for educational purposes. Adrian Elementary received a Miles for Education grant for $3,698.78. With these funds, the school will purchase three interactive white boards, and three years of an educational city website. Upon presentation of the check, one student exclaimed, “Wow, that’s alot of numbers!” Christine Dykes said, “I am glad we were able to raise funds for the school.”
