Optimist Club honors area students

The Adrian R-3, Ballard R-2, and Miami R-1 School Districts have been working, in conjunction with the Adrian Optimist Club, to honor a Student of the Month from each school.

The students are selected by staff members on the following criteria: Character, Attendance, Attitude towards others and school, Behavior, Leadership, and Improvement in, or good grades.

Abbey Burkhart (Ballard), Kassalina Lee (Miami) and Skyler Kariker (Adrian) have been chosen for the month of October. They each received a certificate of recognition and $20.00 in Adrian Chamber of Commerce “Chamber Bucks."

Pictured: Skyler Kariker is a senior at Adrian R-3. After graduation he plans to attend Northwest Missouri State and get a degree in either business or wildlife. He has received several academic honors throughout his hgh school years. Skyler also participates in football and basketball for the Adrian Blackhawks.
