The Birthday Book Club is an initiative designed to help the school library. $5.00 donations from parents, grandparents, family members and special friends in honor of a child’s birthday helped buy more than $800 in new books for the school library. Each child who collected donations for the library had his/her name placed on the inside cover of the book(s). In addition, PTO hosted an Ice Cream Social as a thank you party on Friday, May 1 in the Commons Area.
This year’s PTO-sponsored Ice Cream Social was a huge success. Over 160 elementary students attended, which means over 160 new books were purchased for the school library! During the thank you party, the Birthday Book Club honorees enjoyed ice cream floats, played bingo, and won prizes. Pictured above are some of the elementary bingo winners at the prize table.
