Local VFW sponsors essay contest

The local VFW sponsors an essay contest for Adrian R-III junior high and high school students. The “Patriots Pen” essay contest was open to 6th-8th graders. This year’s winners were all eighth graders. Winners are pictured left to right: VFW member Larry Bunch, Sky Ream, Cody Jones, Michelle Newsome and Commander Don Durbin.
The high school students participated in the “Voice of Democracy” essay contest. Danielle Field, junior, was selected as the winner this year. Danielle is pictured with VFW members Larry Bunch (left) and Commander Don Durbin (right).
