Adrian students participate in Mathematics contest

“Beauty of Mathematics” was the theme of the 25th Annual Missouri Elementary Student Mathematics Contest sponsored by the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The contest, conducted at 21 regional sites across Missouri during March and April, had over 2500 student participants in grades four, five and six. Winners placing first, second and third in each of two events (Concepts and Problem Solving) will be eligible to compete in the State Finals Contest held at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri on May 1, 2010.

Students from Adrian R-III School competed in the regional contest held at Sacred Heart School in Sedalia on April 10. The students were: 4th grade, William Kassmaul, Nicholas Preston, Brendon Shackles; 5th grade, Jacob Weeks, Derek Greer, Tanner Pitts; 6th grade, Adam Cochran, Steven Jacobs, Colton Kimminau. Matt Cochran, 5th grade teacher at Adrian, accompanied the students to the contest.

Students who will be competing in the State Finals Contest in Springfield are 5th grader, Derek Greer, Problem Solving and 6th grader Steven Jacobs, Concepts.
