Adrian PTO/Yoss Thriftway Receipts Program to benefit Adrian R-3 School

By MICHELE BURRIS

Adrian PTO is pleased to partner with Yoss Thriftway again this year in a fundraising endeavor that benefits the students at Adrian R-III. Throughout the school year, parents and community members send in their Yoss Thriftway receipts to school or place them in designated boxes around town. Adrian PTO Receipts Officer Traci Johnson gathers the receipts and totals them. From the total amount of the receipts turned in, Yoss Thriftway donate 1% to Adrian PTO.

This year, the Adrian PTO/Yoss Thriftway Receipts Program has expanded to include the middle school and high school. All students, grades Preschool-12, and their parents are asked to save receipts. Yoss Thriftway Owner Kip Yoss said, “I think it’s great that PTO is extending this program to include the middle school and high school. I thought it was a great idea.”

Traci will keep track of the totals by grade level, and at the end of the school year money raised will be allocated accordingly. School administrators will help determine how to spend the proceeds. Proceeds will be used to help meet the educational needs of all students. In the past PTO has purchased a variety of educational items, including: books, classroom supplies, rewards for students, eye glasses for a student, musical instruments, PE equipment, digital cameras, art supplies and much more.

Saving receipts is easy, and turning them in is easy, too! From now until the last day of school, send your receipts to the Elementary Office or drop them by Adrian Bank, Adrian Lanes, Kreisler Drug & Floral, Citizens Bank, Studio 201, Adrian Christian Church or The Adrian Journal. Remember, even if you do not have a child in school, you can help make a difference for Adrian students!
