James Hamilton McDonnell 1924 - 2008

James Hamilton McDonnell of Drexel, Missouri was born on July 24, 1924 near Archie, Missouri the son of James Karl and Mary D. (Vansandt) McDonnell. He departed this life on Monday, December 22, 2008 at Specialty Hospital of Mid-America, Overland Park, Kansas at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 28 days.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Dickey Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with Larry D. Hess officiating. Military graveside service was performed by the Harrisonville Honor Guard VFW Post 4409 with interment in the Reid Cemetery near Harrisonville, Missouri. The music was performed by Nancy McDonnell. Honorary bearers were Clifford Lee Bishop, Wayne Bishop, Ivan Cumpton, Kenneth Hatten, Gerald Morris and Harold Sliffe. Casket Bearers were Patrick Ball, Jeff Barnard, Matthew Barnard, Travis Barnard, Joe McDonnell, John Peirce and Rusty Peirce. A Masonic service was held Friday, December 26, 2008 under the auspices of the Archie Masonic Lodge #633 A.F. & A.M.
