Howard Lee McElwain, age 67 of Garden City, Missouri formerly of Ballard, Missouri died July 15, 2011 at his home in Garden City. He was born February 5, 1944 to Ellis Leroy and Virginia Fern Bitner McElwain in Bates County, Missouri.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler with Pastor Rusty Miller officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. Contributions may be made to the family.
