Bertha Maxine Hockett, age 81 of Adrian, Missouri died Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. She was born May 1, 1928 to Harlow Acklin and Mary Catherine Lacy Tipton in Merwin, Missouri.

Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler, Missouri with Pastor J.C. Beckner officiating. Interment was in the Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Missouri. Contributions may be made to the Adrian First Baptist Church or American Cancer Society.
