Jay Christopher “Chris” Smith, age 63 of Harrisonville, Missouri, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Funeral services were Saturday, May 25 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler, Missouri with Rev. Richard Pierson officiating. Burial, Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions, Charity of Choice.

John Edward Petty, age 86 of Adrian, Missouri, passed away Monday (Bingo Night) May 20, 2013 at his home. Services were held Thursday May 23 at the Adrian Optimist Building in Adrian, Missouri with Masonic services under the direction of the Crescent Hill Masonic Lodge No. 368, Adrian. Burial was in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian. Military honors were under the auspices of the U.S. Navy, Kansas City, Missouri and the Harrisonville Honor Guard Post 4409. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Heartland Hospice or the Adrian VFW Post No.

June Carrolll (J.C.) Lankford, 96, passed away April 25, 2013. He was born June 19, 1916, on the Lankford family farm 8 miles southwest of Adrian, Bates County, MO. He was the third son of David Lyon (Budge) and Leah Hudelson Lankford.

Memorial services for J.C. were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, 555 South University in Norman, Okla.

Lyle B. Howard, age 100, of Butler, Missouri died Friday, May 10, 2013, at Medicalodge in Butler, Missouri. Lyle was born July 1, 1912, in Hillsboro, Indiana to Nellie Theresa Koon Howard and Blueford Howard and was the 3rd oldest of 8 children and the only boy.

Funeral services were Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler, Missouri with Pastor Dave Owsley officiating and Bob Wayland assisting. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio Street United Methodist Church or Charity of Choice.
