Blackhawks baseball has successful week

The Adrian Blackhawks baseball team was in action last week as they hosted Montrose on Thursday and traveled to Jawyhawk-Linn on Friday for a double header. In the second game against the Jayhawks, Adrian fell behind in the second inning as they found themselves trailing 6-3. The Blackhawks turned the game around in the fifth inning as they were able to catch the lead and pick up their defense. Adrian captured the win, 20-9 after a slow start.

Mrs. Ruth Ann Dryden, of Garden City, Missouri, was born November 6, 1940 in Mexico, Missouri, the daughter of Chester and Laura (Price) Buffington. She departed this life Sunday, April 15, 2007, Adrian Manor Nursing Home, Adrian, Missouri at the age of 66 years, 5 months, and 9 days.

Geneva F. Bruto 1923-2007

Geneva F. Bruto, 84, of Butler, MO passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at the Willow Lane Nursing Center in Butler, MO. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Underwood-Brandtonies Funeral Home of Butler. Visitation was held Wednesday, April 25, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Underwood-Brandtonies Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to either the Bates County Community Health Foundation or the Adrian Sports Complex Fund.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2007 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler, Missouri with Rev. James Stanfield-Myers officiating. Burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to the Charity of Choice.
