Manning E. Vermillion, 94, Fort Scott, KS died Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Fort Scott Manor. Graveside services were held Thursday, April 20, 2006 at the Virginia, MO Cemetery.

Ricky Alton Bennett, 54, of Belton, MO, formerly of Butler, MO died Sunday, April 9, 2006 at his home in Belton. Memorial services were 2 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler, MO.

The Adrian City Council has a new addition. Cindy Kendrick, center, was sworn in as the next mayor of the city. Incumbents Hank Stark, left and Mark Lovelace, right, were also given the oath by City Clerk Barbara Bloomfield at Monday night's regular meeting.
