Woman claims she was abducted from Adrian

On Friday afternoon, March 21, Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to investigate the report of a partially-clothed female lying alongside the road on State Route RA, south of 18 Highway.

At the scene, deputies were informed by the female subject that she had been abducted from the Adrian area by two male subjects. The male subjects forced her at gunpoint to drive to a rural location within Henry County, at which time she was assaulted and her newborn child was taken from her. The female subject was transported from the scene by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, which she claimed were a result of the attack.

An immediate search of the area conducted by deputies, resulted in the discovery of the female’s vehicle and a possible crime scene. As the investigation developed into the evening, discrepancies began to develop between the female’s statements and the evidence found at the crime scene. Investigators received information confirming that the female victim had apparently not been pregnant recently. The female was treated and released from the hospital later on Friday evening.

The investigation into this incident remains open as sheriff’s deputies are still following up on leads in the case. Anyone with information concerning the alleged incident is requested to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at (660) 885-7021 or the TIPS Hotline at 1-800-825-8477.
