BCMH asks flu patients to take precautions

If you have any symptoms of a cold or flu, Bates County Memorial Hospital asks that you please refrain from visiting patients at the hospital. Symptoms of flu can include fever (usually high), headache, muscle aches, extreme tiredness, dry cough, sore throat, and runny or stuffy nose. Some people, especially children, may also have stomach problems and diarrhea. If you have any of these symptoms, but feel that you must visit a family member or the hospital for any reason, we ask that you wear a mask, cover coughs and sneezes with a Kleenex or the bend of your elbow, and practice good hand hygiene. Masks are available from admitting clerks. If you are visiting a patient, please see the nurse before entering the patient’s room. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
