R-3 wrestler injured at State
Coty McDonald, an Adrian R-3 athlete, was injured while wrestling at State in Columbia, Missouri on Friday, February 15. According to Kenny McDonald, Coty’s father, Coty suffered from a herniated disk in his neck and underwent emergency surgery on Saturday, February 16 in Columbia.
“I would like to thank Coach Don Lile for giving him immediate attention and for taking him to the trainers,” McDonald said. “If it wasn’t for Coach Lile’s attentive care, Coty could have been paralyzed.”
Coty’s disk was replaced and he suffered no paralysis, according to his father.
