Donating blood is easy as 1-2-3
By ANNA LEE JAMES
The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Adrian Tuesday, September 7 from 1:00pm-6:00pm at the Optimist Building. Our goal of 50 units of blood has not been met in a long time. Surely a community of our size could meet that goal if only every eligible donor would make an effort to drop by and donate a unit of life-saving blood. We cannot wait until the day someone needs blood to donate, as there are so many tests that blood goes through before it is passed on to hospitals for use. All this is for the safety of those in need.

Adrian opens softball season at Knob Noster
The Adrian Lady Blackhawks opened their 2010 softball season at Knob Noster on Monday, August 23. Adrian scored 16 runs but lost the game 16 to 22.
Coach Hubbard said, “Any time you score 16 points you ought to win. But any time you have 23 walks and 11 passed balls on the catcher, along with 6 defensive errors, it is easy to understand why you didn’t. Both teams played kind of ugly at times but we did hit the ball well. We out hit them 12 to 7. That was a bright spot for us. We will get better. The girls work hard and it will pay off for them.”

Bloodmobile in Adrian September 7
By ANNA LEE JAMES
The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Adrian September 7, at the Adrian Optimist Building from 1-6 p.m. The hot weather has made the draw of blood very low; yet the need continues to be there. So start thinking and keeping your body ready to make a donation on that Tuesday. Many of us forget. So we need to think of something to be a good reminder. Marking your calendar, putting a small flag with a red blood drop on it in plain sight. Any small thing you can do will help. Then bring your reminder plan along and share with other donors that day.
