Water, water everywhere
High water plagued areas around Adrian, but, except for the rains, the city was unscathed. From the Grand River and the Mormon Fork in the north, to the Maris des Cygne and the Bates County Drainage Ditch to the south, high water caused detours through many areas.
U.S. 71 Highway was closed in different places between Archie and points farther south. There was major flooding just north of Rich Hill and several residents along V Highway near the Bates County Drainage ditch lost their homes and possessions to the high water.

Then, it rained out the parade plans and the scheduled activities on Saturday, June 30 at the City Park.
